Cheir is the first strain of Stigma encountered in New Blood. It is similar to the GUILT strain Kyriaki. Cheir is the Greek word for "hand". Like Kyriaki, after opening the patient up, there will be some lacerations on the organ due to the nature of Cheir's attacks. Lloyd Wilkens is the first victim of this particular strain of Stigma.

Treatment

Preparing for Stigma

Before Cheir is actually treatable, the many lacerations already present on the affected organ must be sutured. After all of the lacerations have been sutured, Cheir will finally appear.

Stage 2 (fused) Cheir.

Cheir is to be treated almost exactly like Kyriaki, keeping in mind there are a few minor differences. The only way to defeat Cheir is with continued lasering, like Kyriaki; however, Cheir requires much more lasering compared to its GUILT counterpart. There will be between 3-5 "waves" of Cheir. On either the third or fourth wave, two Cheir will fuse together into a larger Cheir (commonly known as a Stage 2 Cheir), capable of creating multiple lacerations at once.

Mutations

Some Cheir operations will feature a mutated form of Cheir for the second wave. The mutated forms only have different attack capabilities; everything else remains the same. These attacks include forming a large laceration and forming tumors.

General Tips

Whenever Cheir is hit with the laser, it will attempt to move in the opposite direction. You can turn this into a weakness with the fused Cheir by "pushing" it off of the affected organ, since Cheir cannot attack if it isn't on the organ. Also, please note that applying antibiotic gel will drasticaly reduce Cheir's movement speed for a short period of time.

Stats and Attacks

A Stage 1 Cheir will always require 3 OKs to be defeated; a Stage 2 Cheir needs 4 OKs.

  • Single Laceration - Cheir creates a single laceration. All basic forms of Cheir can use this attack. Each laceration deals about 10 damage to the vitals on hard mode.
  • Large Laceration - Cheir dives down into the organ and bursts upwards, creating a large, gaping laceration. This attack is only used by a mutated form of Cheir.
  • Tumor Creation - Cheir quickly spins in a circle, and creates a tumor over the spot it circled. This attack is only used by a mutated form.
  • Asterisk Cut - Cheir creates 6 lacerations in the shape of an asterisk around it. Only a fused Cheir is able to perform this attack. This attack deals 25 vital damage on hard mode.
