Story[]
The team arrives in Culuruma, and is greeted by President Moreno who introduces them to the site. He also introduces them to Pepita, their guard dog escort. Joining the doctors is Maria Estrada, a Culuruma native who has finished her residency and is serving as their interpreter. But before they can begin work, Valerie notices that Maria is acting off. Markus is alarmed that she may be coming down with Vaimahse Fever, and they begin treatment quickly. After the operation, the team discusses whether Maria should take a break to recover or continue working with them. Maria remains enthusiastic, and the team decides that they'll need all the assistance they can get, provided Maria promises to keep a close eye on her own condition.

Operation[]
Vaimahse Fever manifests as unusual tumors in the lungs - you have six of them to treat here. These tumors regularly change between red and blue, and are safe to remove while blue. Vaimahse tumors also leave scars behind on removal, which are inert for most of the operation.
If you touch a tumor while it's red, releases gas that causes bleeding and inflammation at any sites of scar tissue. This gas is not a big issue if you trigger it at the start of the operation, but it can cause enough damage to trigger an instant game over if released while you have five sites of scar tissue. The tumors will also cause vitals to drop while they remain on the organ, so work with care.

Getting XS[]
You don't have a lot of wiggle room with the vital bonus, so start with a dose of stabilizer before the opening incision, then use your Healing Touch (as either doctor) immediately before starting work. Markus's Touch will let you remove the tumors before the vital drain puts you under the bonus threshold, while Valerie's negates the background vital drain as you work. A perfect extraction should then net you an XS without further difficulty.
