For the Future is the third episode of the third chapter of Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2.
Story[]
Victor presents the PGS medication customized for Emilio, and Derek is relieved that he will be able to make a full recovery sooner. Sidney and Hoffman are also pleased that the partnership with Acropolis has greatly assisted in the development of this medication. Victor, however, still has his mind on the strange GUILT strain that they witnessed in the donor liver, and returns to tracing its origins.
Mayuzumi approaches Derek and is impressed with his showing on television. The broadcast has inspired her to request a special operation where Derek's movements are monitored and recorded so that his techniques can be studied and used to improve the training of future surgeons. Derek accepts these conditions, and aims to give his all regardless.
Angie, on the other hand, is opposed to it, concerned that the equipment may impede his ability to work at full capacity. Derek reassures her that he will be able to perform well, and that he's also doing this to help his fellow doctors improve.
After a successful operation where he uses his Healing Touch, Derek finally makes his decision to decline Mayuzumi's offer, as he'd prefer to be on the front lines saving his patients instead of working a desk job. Mayuzumi understands and backs down, but is plotting something with the recording of Derek's Healing Touch...

Operation[]
This is the first aneurysm operation. You may also notice that you can't use the Healing Touch here, because it's scripted to trigger at a later part in the level.
The first two aneurysms are the game's own tutorial for them. Inject the sedative, excise and extract the shrunken aneurysm, drain away the blood pool, then close and stitch the artery together. For large aneurysms, you instead have to position an artificial vessel junction and then stitch its three ends together. You'll also need a larger dose of sedative before you can start extracting the aneurysm.
Now that you've been briefed on the aneurysm treatment, the game will start sending them in waves at you. The tricky part here is juggling the sedative between small and big aneurysms so that none of them burst. The magnifier is also enabled so don't forget to pan around in case you've missed anything. One good thing to note is that an aneurysm that has been fully shrunken and cut (but not extracted) will not start swelling again.
You start with a wave of two small and one large aneurysm. You'll see two in your immediate vision, and the third is off to the left. Once this is treated, the next wave is two small and two large aneurysms. The final wave is three small and two large aneurysms, and this is where Derek's Healing Touch will automatically kick in to let you treat them with little stress. This Healing Touch will last until the final aneurysm is treated.

Getting XS[]
Two minutes is a very tight time limit. Normally, you'd manage the smaller aneurysms first since they are quicker to burst, but unattended large aneurysms will demand a lot of sedative to shrink fully, so shrink and cut them first.
