History of Fear is the third Surgery level in Trauma Team.
Opening[]
Hank bursts into the room where Esha, Gabriel, and Tomoe are, startling Esha. CR-S01 is revealed behind him. Gabriel asks where he was, as he is out of breath. Hank says he was in the courtyard, which CR-S01 exposes as a lie. After Hank is called out, he tries to explain, but Esha cuts him off and starts the briefing. Four of the Ferris wheel victims will be arriving at Resurgam, one with major injuries and a steel beam in his abdomen. Gabriel is left to notify his family. Esha adds that they still do not have a surgeon scheduled, and Tomoe suggests CR-S01. Hank supports this, and Esha assigns CR-S01 to do the surgery. Soon, the patient is brought to Resurgam. Tomoe explains the procedure to CR-S01, and asks if something is bothering him. He begins to explain, but is cut off by the patient going into cardiac arrest. CR-S01 worries that he'll be seen as the outsider if he does the operation, but Tomoe corrects him and states that he's one of them now, and they all believe he'll save him.
Operation[]
First, we have a steel beam embedded in the liver. Before we do anything, the patient enters cardiac arrest. The game will instruct you how to use the defibrillator. As soon as the patient's pulse is restored, drain the blood around the beam, use the scalpel to cut incisions around it, drain the blood as you go, and use the forceps to remove it. He will go into cardiac arrest again while the procedure is underway; continue to attend to that. Once the object is out, turn your attention to the wound. Drain the blood pools, close the wound with the forceps, and suture it. Synthetic membranes will have to be used as reinforcement. While you affix them, small areas of hemorrhaging will appear on the operating field; treat them with antibiotic gel. There will also be blood pockets under the surface; use the ultrasound to find them, cut them away and drain them, then suture them. Foreign objects are also in evidence; these will need to be removed. Another wound is hemorrhaging and will need to be closed with the forceps before suturing. The patient may go into false cardiac arrest while treating the area; watch out for that. Once you've treated all visible injuries, you will need to look around for one more hidden blood pocket. Find it, treat it, and close the patient up.
Ending[]
Maria watches the video of CR-S01's surgery and is amazed. She spots Holden admiring someone, and finds out it's a photo of his daughter. Holden reveals that she died long ago, in the Cumberland College Incident along with his wife. He goes on to say that CR-S01 did it, and he was the one to find him. Maria is shocked, and Holden explains that he doesn't remember anything that happened, but was still found guilty. Outside in the hall, Maria attacks CR-S01 and demands to know if he caused the incident. He only explains that he was tried for it, and a frustrated Maria shoves him down and accuses him of lying while Esha restrains and takes her away. CR-S01 requests Tomoe take him back to his room.
