Hope Hospital is the fourth episode of the fourth chapter of Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2.
Story[]
Derek is posted again at Hope Hospital where he once worked at before transferring to Caduceus. Greg and Cybil give him a quick briefing to his duties here, but also note that his loss of confidence has definitely taken a toll on him. They also discuss getting an old staff in to help out. As Derek finishes his clinic duties, he receives a phone call informing him that he is to perform an operation. He tries to protest that he is not fit to do this, but Greg reminds him that he can still do plenty without his Healing Touch. He also gets Derek re-acquainted with Mary Fulton, his old mentor from the first chapter of Under the Knife. After a couple of successful operations, Mary tells Derek that it looks like he has regressed despite all the improvements he has made in himself since the last time they worked together. She tells him that dwelling on the past and what would have been has caused him to lose sight of the present, and he'll need patience to slowly get himself back on track.

Operation[]
You have two back-to-back operations. They're unique operations but must all be undertaken while you don't have access to the Healing Touch.
The first one is a cholelithiasis operation. After the initial incision, ultrasound to locate the gallstone and fragment it with the laser. Then, inject the white sedative and start cutting out the gall bladder, but don't forget to check for gallstones that will break your Chain if they pass. Each time you finish a cut the patient will bleed, and you'll have to drain away the blood pools before you can continue cutting. Taking too long to make the cut after draining away the blood pools will also cause the pools to re-form and break your Chain.
Once you make the final cut where you trace over the entire gall bladder, you have one last gallstone to fragment, and no more gallstones will appear after this. Extract the gall bladder with the forceps, cure the bleeding with the gel, and suture the bile duct shut.
The next operation is an appendicitis case. After the initial incision, drain away the pus and cure the inflammation, then start the appendicectomy by injecting the white sedative into the appendix. Cut away the mesoappendix and then use the wire loops to tie it off. Bear in mind that pus clouds will form in the process and obstruct the operation.
Once you've tied off the appendix, make one last cut to sever it, extract it, then patch up the wound with an artificial membrane.
Special Bonuses[]
- No misses: 400
- Completed with [90/120/150] left: 700
- MAX CHAIN Over [30/40/60]: 300
- Gallstone passed <[6/3/2] times: 600
Operation Rank[]
- C: <3000
- B: 3000-4099
- A: 4100-5199
- S: 5200-5599
- XS: ≥5600
Getting XS[]
The gall bladder operation is likely the major stumbling point for many a player since there are many points for the Chain to break. Since large stones take a long time to successfully fragment, only proceed with each step of the cutting process right after breaking up a small stone to minimize the risk of a re-bleed in the middle of excision.

Trivia[]
Upon operation failure, there is a mistake in the game's sprite selection; the sprite used for Derek is incorrect as it uses his Caduceus uniform variant instead of Hope Hospital's general uniform.
