Story[]
Professor Wilkens awakens from his operation and is pleased to learn that he is on the road to a swift recovery. Rousseau walks in, also congratulating Wilkens on a successful operation, but an offhand remark about an unauthorized recording causes Wilkens to be outraged. Wilkens requests some time to himself before the team agrees to discuss further treatment.
Valerie is confused as to how Stigma would be studied without any available sample or data, and claim that such a pathogen is too unrealistic. Markus recalls that the world experienced a GUILT outbreak from 10 years ago, and Stigma would not be too far-fetched in comparison. The Professor did investigate for a link between both pathogens, but Stigma is not affected by the GUILT vaccine. Valerie now understands why Rousseau was so intrigued by the Professor's Stigma research.
Four days later, the team keeps receiving new patients that were reassigned from Rousseau's lists. They overhear gossip that Rousseau has been receiving a lot of visitors and is expecting to be promoted. As Markus and Valerie finish their work for the day, they receive a page from Wilkens, but are interrupted by a fire breaking out in the hospital. They rush to the scene to find that Rousseau's been caught in the fire and Professor Wilkens has gone missing. They begin work to treat Rousseau's extensive burns.
Days later, the team goes over what they have learned - the Professor's been kidnapped, his research has been stolen, and any leftover traces of him have been burned to ashes. They worry for the Professor's safety and their ability to work amidst needing to negotiate with the media. Irene comes in, and explains that she initially wanted to recruit Markus and Valerie after witnessing their skills, but now she's requesting that they immediately transfer to Caduceus to assist with investigating the subject of Wilkens's research.

Operation[]
This is a burn operation, and an infamously tedious one at that.
The treatment process of burns is simple - culture 4 squares of skin with the yellow skin culture medication, excise them, position them over a burned area, and affix with the antibiotic gel. Drain off any blood pools that form. If the burned area is blackened, the necrotic tissue must need the blue coolant injected before it can be excised.
The main issue here is the sheer number of burned areas that need attention, and the fact that you cannot "drop" any skin samples if a blood pool obscures your working area. Any blood pooling under your skin samples will cause them to fall off as well, forcing you to start over. The proximity of burned areas can lead to mispositioning of skin samples too.
The already-blackened burns won't bleed, so work on the fresh burns first. Prepare 4 to 8 squares of skin culture and excise them - a full syringe of culture fluid has enough for a little over 4 squares. Then, drain off the blood pooling around the burn you want to treat and quickly attach the skin samples. Repeat until you only have blackened skin to treat, and work on those accordingly.
This operation may need a lot of practice to finish quickly. Your main obstacle is often the timer instead of the patient's vitals. Markus's Healing Touch is great for treating the burns before they blacken or bleed, while Valerie's Healing Touch is less useful as it only minimizes the number of times you need to give the stabilizer.

Getting XS[]
Work calmly, don't rush, or you'll make a mistake along the way. You can try waiting for a new blood pool to form over the burn you want to work on, before draining and securing the skin patches. This minimizes the chance of the patches falling off while you're working. If you need more score, take the time to max out the patient's vitals before you treat the last burn.
