Montgomery Memorial is the second episode of the first chapter of Trauma Center: New Blood. Both Markus Vaughn and Valerie Blaylock are available in this chapter.
Story[]
On a morning in the streets of Fairbank, Alaska, Dr. Valerie Blaylock meets with Sister Catherine Jackson. Blaylock and Jackson chat about simple topics like the weather, and Blaylock mentions that she's been meaning to attend sunday service, and Sister Jackson says that she wishes to see her before they move to the new church. In Montgomery Memorial Hospital, patient Eugene Carlton complains to Vaughn and Blaylock about not having enough money to go to a "real" hospital. Blaylock states that the Montgomery Memorial Hospital is affiliate with the Concordia Medical Institute in Los Angeles. Carlton replies that the townfolks think that Montgomery Memorial is staffed with rejects, and that the good Dr. Montgomery who built the hospital has been dead for a long time. Vaughn reassures the patient that he can easily treat his benign tumors, and tells Carlton to return to his room to prepare for the operation. Carlton, still suspicious, tells the doctors that he wants to call his wife about his will.
After Carlton leaves, Dr. Vaughn expresses his dissatisfaction of being called back to Concordia Medical Institute. Dr. Hoover enters the room to talk with Dr. Vaughn about the matter of Vaughn returning to Concordia. Vaughn states that he refuses to return, since he thinks that Montgomery cannot function without him in place. Dr. Hoover mentions that the order for Vaughn to return is personally made by Professor Wilkens, and that he should consult with Valerie before making his decision.
Nurse Marcy Bloom enters the room and tells Vaughn that Dr. Valerie is paging him. Dr. Vaughn excuses himself from Dr. Hoover to head to Carlton's operation.

Operation[]
Start with burning off polyps and then patching them up with antibiotic gel.
You will then be introduced to the ultrasound, which works differently from the previous entries in the series. Just by scanning the organ with the tool selected, you can see any tumor shadows; pressing A will help you lock on to the shadow, keeping it in view as you switch to other tools.
To get COOLs when removing tumors, hover over the tumor shadow, but don't press A to lock on. Immediately switch to the scalpel and make the incision on the spot to expose the tumor. Continue excising as per the game's instructions.
You have four tumors to excise before the operation is complete. Burn off any polyps that form as well.
Special Bonuses[]
- No Mistakes: x1.4
- Completed with [210/230/240] left: x1.1
- MAX CHAIN of at least [40/45/50]: x1.2
- Vitals stayed above [60/70/75]: x1.3
Operation Rank[]
Rank | Easy | Normal | Hard |
---|---|---|---|
C | <2100 | <3800 | <5000 |
B | 2100~2299 | 3800~4099 | 5000~5599 |
A | 2300~2599 | 4100~4299 | 5600~5799 |
S | ≥2600 | ≥4300 | 5800~5949 |
XS | - | - | ≥5950 |
Getting XS[]
Your biggest obstacle is the "vitals stayed above X" bonus, and it's easy to lose track when handling the tumors and polyps at the same time. Since polyps appear when the tumor is excised, treat each tumor one by one. You might want to push vitals to 85 or higher before starting to treat each tumor.
