Story[]
The suicidal Linda lashes out at Derek and Angie, as she was hoping that her death would finally free her from her suffering. When asked why she wanted to die, she responds that her life has been a miserable one, and that "a positive outlook won't just magically solve all her problems." Angie angrily lashes back at Linda, telling her that she should probably just die as she's taking her own life for granted. Derek tells her off, and Angie leaves in a huff.
Linda doesn't blame Angie for her angry outburst - she hates herself as much as Angie hates her. Derek stays behind, telling Linda that helping someone isn't a waste of time, no matter the cause. He recalls a time in his past where he lost his pet cat in an accident, and could not stop blaming himself for his loss. When he expressed his desire to die out of his guilt, his mother rebuked it, telling him that he would be a shame to his pet, family, and above all, himself, for thinking that way.
Derek then asks if Linda could tell her own friends and family that she wanted to die. Linda denies it, and so Derek asks her if she could say the same to herself. Linda realizes that she can't do it, and apologizes for harboring such thoughts. Derek then encourages her to live not just to satisfy those around her, but to make herself happy, as it will then start to turn her life around. Linda contemplates his advice, and begins smiling again.
