Retaliation is the second episode of the fifth chapter of Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2.

Story[]

Derek still feels a little guilty over Adel's departure, but Angie consoles him, taking comfort that there hasn't been any bad news from Adel. Suddenly, Sidney summons Derek and Angie to the office to respond to a request for help from Acropolis Pharmaceuticals. They have received a Delphi-style cryptic letter and then became subject to a GUILT attack. Two staff have been confirmed infected while the rest are currently being treated with first aid.

Derek and Angie arrive at Acropolis and confirm the situation with Mayuzumi, and move to treat the Tetarti patient. Mayuzumi also informs them that a doctor from the HOA arrived earlier and is currently treating one of the GUILT victims, and Derek and Angie prepare to assist the HOA doctor after they're done.

Conference[]

Briefing Dialogue
Shall we begin the briefing? The patient is infected with a variation of GUILT called "Tetarti." In fact, it's the same strain that Dr. Kasal became infected with three years ago...
Yeah, I'll never forget that.
Tetarti has a tendency to appear in threes. They create poisonous polyps on the outer layer of the liver that release toxins into the body. There will be one objective for this operation:
- Eliminate Tetarti.
First, we'll have to treat all the poisonous polyps and force Tetarti's main bodies to surface. If we inject the serum into all three Tetarti before they can burrow again... we should be able to stop them from moving all together. But, each of them needs to be injected with a specific serum... Make sure to inject the same-colored serum into the corresponding Tetarti body.
So, our treatment methods for this GUILT haven't changed since the last time we fought it.
That's true, but don't let your guard down, Doctor. The three viral bodies are synchronized. They'll only stay visible for a short period of time... And on top of that, the serum cannot be injected until they turn white. You must work quickly.
Understood. (But... something's bothering me. Is this really--)
...Doctor?
Sorry, I was just thinking to myself.
Let's begin the operation!

Operation[]

If you're familiar with Tetarti, this operation is a cinch, as UtK2 doesn't add any new significant mechanic to them.

You start on the patient's liver, with three brightly-colored diverticula. Inject each diverticulum with the Tetarti serum of the matching color, then excise and extract them. Then, the fight with Tetarti will begin.

The Tetarti bodies will first emerge displaying their colors. Memorize which color is which, because they will all turn white before pacing across the organ. You need to hit each Tetarti body with the matching serum in one go before they escape to count as a successful "hit". Hitting with the wrong color counts as a miss and causes a Tetarti to generate a diverticulum which must be excised.

After two waves of Tetarti bodies, the game will introduce the added gimmick to Tetarti: another color. This doesn't raise Tetarti's overall difficulty by much. Continue treating Tetarti and they will be defeated without too much effort.

Special Bonuses[]

  • No misses: 300
  • Completed with [90/180/210] left: 700
  • MAX CHAIN Over [15/28/35]: 600
  • Toxic diverticulum formed <[6/4/2]: 400
