Story[]
Professor Wilkens gathers the team, including Rousseau, and finally begins the briefing on his condition. He's led everyone else to believe he has a chronic heart condition, but what he was suffering from was an unknown disease, contracted from an infected lab rat that he was studying.
He assures that the disease, which he tentatively named "Stigma", is still not very infectious, but can become very invasive once the infected experiences stress. As no medication or vaccine is available to treat it, extraction is the only option. He also requests that the team keep the operation confidential, and only permits them to read his research notes.
Markus is completely puzzled at this development as he is somehow certain that Stigma should not be that infectious. Professor Wilkens pays him a visit and asks him to destroy all traces of his Stigma research in the off chance the operation fails. He's certain that Markus would agree, as Markus previously wished that "it all disappeared" three years ago.

Operation[]
This is the first Stigma operation. The first strain is Cheir, one of the more aggressive but simple strains to treat.
Begin with treating the initial lacerations on the heart to force Cheir to manifest. You'll have to defeat it with the laser. Cheir is quite hardy for a pathogen and will require several seconds of laser exposure before it is eradicated. Treat any lacerations it creates along the way.
After incinerating the first Cheir body, two more will appear. Take them out, and a final pair will manifest and fuse into a larger, tougher form. It's capable of creating six lacerations arranged in an asterisk formation - the resulting cut and bleed damage would be too high to ignore normally, so treat it quickly when it happens.

Getting XS[]
The requirements are very lenient here. There's more than enough lacerations to achieve the COOLs bonus, and the time limit gives you a little space to toy with Cheir in case you need more points from suturing lacerations.
