Tainted Medicine is the story-only second episode of the seventh chapter of Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2.
Story[]
The truth behind Neo-GUILT has been disclosed to the rest of Caduceus staff. The HOA's Neo-GUILT research is behind their medicine that has proven capable of many things, from body enhancements to improved regeneration. The market for this is incredibly lucrative, as a lot of wealthy individuals, especially athletes, are willing to pay big for it. Victor also theorizes that their illegal GUILT research is what let them develop the anti-GUILT serum, and extrapolating from this, it's also likely that the HOA doctors were given their artificial Healing Touch through the same method. Sidney gets Derek to formulate a treatment plan and begins making requests to the other Caduceus branch to keep their eyes peeled for any potential Neo-GUILT cases. Hoffman is relieved that the insider information provided the leads to get them to this stage, and reveals that Blackwell joined the HOA to spy on them for Caduceus.
Meanwhile, Heather is visiting her comatose mother, and Mercer enters the scene to her annoyance. Mercer tries to get Heather to reconsider her life decisions, stating that she could have done much more outside the medical field. Heather holds her ground and reiterates that there are things that Mercer can never accomplish, no matter how advanced his innovations will be. Mercer remains confident in the abilities of his Neo-GUILT. With enough evidence in hand, the police makes preparations to conduct a raid on the HOA.
