Story[]
As the raid draws to a close, Cynthia has been taken into custody, and Markus and Valerie confront her about Vakhushti.
Vakhushti was born and raised in Parnassus, and then moved to the United States to become a doctor. He then started his company Columba & Cornix and returned home to offer his aid. However, the army tried to have him assassinated while he was working at a refugee camp. This disillusioned him and started his descent into madness. He began adhering to an old legend from Parnassus, believing himself to be one to purge humanity, and this led to his involvement with arms trade and Stigma. As Vakhushti's madness worsened, Cynthia left Caduceus to try and dissuade him from his crusade, but Vakhushti responded by installing a killswitch on her heart underneath an implant he developed. Cynthia has been forced to remain in the castle under fear of being killed by remote control at any time. However, at this moment, Vakhushti has isolated himself in his personal "ark", believing Cynthia to no longer be of any use to him. This gives the team the freedom to operate on Cynthia and remove his killswitch.

Operation[]
This is a big callback to chapter 1-4 as you're working on the same type of implant from that level. Shock the electrical chips to disable them, extract them with scalpel and forceps. Then, extract the implant to get to the killswitch beneath it. While you're working, Cynthia will regularly fibrillate and haemorrhage - cleanse any blood clouds that appear with gel, and if she flatlines you have to restart her heart with cardiac massage.
Once you've reached the killswitch, you need to shock it with the laser to temporarily disable it, then make a total of five cuts around its circumference. The killswitch can intermittently restart itself, forcing you to shock it again with the laser to continue excision. After all the cuts are made, the killswitch will not reactivate, and you can pull it out and replace the pump and chips. If you're quick enough, successfully reinstalling the implant will halt any ongoing fibrillation, letting you close up in peace.

Getting XS[]
You won't get enough score just by blazing through the operation, so instead farm Chain and score by clearing out blood clouds. You'll need to have three perfect heart massages to get the last bonus, and if you can afford the time, let a fourth flatline happen to farm a few more COOLs. Just be aware of the time limit - you may be cutting it close if you choose to farm points.
