Wandering Girl is the second Forensics level in Trauma Team.

Story[]

Opening[]

Alyssa

Alyssa asking Naomi to help her cat.

Lastwords

The last words of this case's victim, Veronica Cage.

The episode starts off with Naomi on the phone with Navel, regarding the body she's meant to receive for her investigation. She's rushed to get to it, interrupting Navel. Naomi takes a second to go outside, and meets Alyssa, who asks her to help the cat in her hands. She concludes the cat had just swallowed something, and tells Alyssa she'll be fine. Naomi eventually returns to her assigned task. Navel is waiting for her with everything set up and notices the cat scratches on Naomi's hands. She sternly dismisses him, and at this point, this is where she dials the last words of the case's victim, Veronica Cage.

Investigation[]

Starting off, Navel tells Kimishima of the body discovery; a skeletonized corpse found in a river 50km. away from the city. A homeless man had reported finding the remains under a bridge, and the questioning was recorded for Kimishima's use. The presumed cause of death is drowning, but this is only speculation. Upon starting the body investigation, Naomi is called by Navel regarding it. Seeing it in a bag gives her a sense of unamusement, with Navel quickly elaborating that it was the most reliable way to get it to her. He asks Naomi to reconstruct the skull, and says that he'll restore the rest of the body. This is the first time the player is able to reconstruct this part of the body.

Starting the examination, Naomi notices that both femurs were shattered. She deduces that it would've taken a lot of power to snap both bones at once, since they're the strongest bones in the human body. Kimishima also notices the right hand's little finger is broken. Moving up to the ribcage, she notices very odd coloration on the bones, specifically the upper right part that reaches to the shoulder. Moving on to the investigation of the victim's clothing, the pants are stained with dirty tire tracks. It was previously mentioned that the assumed means of death was drowning, and this concerns Naomi. "When the location of the victim's body was known to the police, it was... found near a river." Answering the deduction correctly gives the player a "Tire Marks on Clothing" card. Next, Naomi notices a massive blood stain on the front of the victim's shirt, and she notes that it definitely isn't caused by injury. "If the bloodstains on her clothing are due to an injury, then there's a problem. That is... there's no apparent damage." Answering the deduction correctly gives the player a "Mysterious Bloodstains" card. Naomi deduces that the clothing would've been damaged had there been an injury. She wonders if there was some other cause of the blood, and moves on.

Lastly, Kimishima notices that the necklace the victim is wearing is shattered; a chunk of it is missing. It seems to be made out of agate, a rather tough rock. Investigating the necklace will end the examination. After her autopsy, Naomi returns to her office to review the information she's gathered. She contacts Navel to question him about the odd discoloration found before on the victim's chest. He returns saying that he had found nothing to match it, further shrouding it in mystery. This turns the card into "Unknown Pathological Change." After the unsuccessful search, Naomi then asks Navel about the skull, curious about the dental records that could identify the victim. Then, Naomi determines, with the tire tracks and broken femurs, that the body was definitely run over by a vehicle. "The tire tracks on the clothing and the fractures on the corpse's legs match. This shows that... the legs were run over." This merges the cards, and they become "Accident Damage." Navel contacts Naomi and updates her with information from the corpse collector team; there was apparently a type of tick in the ground where the body was.

"The insects found in the ground around where the body was tell us... how long it had been there." Answering the deduction correctly gives the player a "Time Since Death" card. Naomi asks about the time of death, and Navel responds that it was determined to be around a month ago. She returns to her investigation, reviewing the questioning of the man who found the body, John Doe. The investigator(s) ask him about how he found the body. His dog, Sam, had apparently ran off in the direction of the corpse whilst the two were walking down the river. Sam returns with a bone, which John identified as a woman's arm, and he proceeded to contact the police. Naomi notices the lie sticking out of the man's testimony, and tells Navel about it. The lie is found at 07/11, where he claims the bone his dog found was a lady's arm. He wouldn't have known that unless he had actually went to the body, even though he had claimed not to go near it, as it was "creepy."

"The reason why John Doe knew what gender the victim was is that he... saw the corpse himself." Answering the deduction correctly gives the player a "Lie of Discovery" card. Naomi explains that John would've known the body was female based on the clothing still on it. She soon contacts Navel about it, and they discuss the subject. Kimishima suggests that John would've lied to hide the fact that he had been at the site. "The reason why John Doe didn't say that he saw the body was because... he tampered with the scene." This upgrades the card into "Tampered Scene." Naomi bluntly asks Navel to interrogate John Doe again to find out what he had tampered with. Navel asks if the cause of death really is a drowning. "When I began the autopsy, the victim's skull was... shattered into pieces."

Naomi proceeds to prove the victim was definitely run over by a car. "When I began the autopsy, the victim's legs were... both femurs were broken." Navel mentions that the scene had a low water level, and no powerful water activity like rapids or floods. Naomi proceeds to notify Navel that she's going to the scene in person, since assuming anything outside of what they already knew would be risky. "Considering the fact that there was evidence of an auto accident on the corpse, the place the victim really died was... at the bridge nearby." Navel soon makes the arrangements for the investigation to move there. Naomi notices the missing piece of the victim's necklace, which gives the player a "Shining Stone" card. She then sees the tire tracks and the bent metal fence, which implies some form of a car accident."The skid marks left on the road and signs of a collision indicate that... a car accident occurred here." Answering the deduction correctly gives the player a "Signs of Auto Accident" card. This is all of the evidence Naomi can gather at this area.

She returns to her office to review her findings. Naomi fits the piece of the necklace she found with the rest, and it ends up being a perfect fit. "The broken necklace found with the body goes with the stone piece found at the accident scene. This tells us that... the victim was on the bridge." Answering this deduction correctly merges the two cards into a "Victim At The Bridge?" card. Naomi asks Navel about the scene of the car accident, and he, in turn, gives her some extra information about the aftermath. He mentions being able to look at the skid marks left behind on the road to determine how many tires the vehicle had. Kimishima concludes there were ten tires on the car. "We were able to deduce the vehicle in the accident by counting the axles and wheels. The vehicle was... a large truck." Answering the deduction correctly completes the analysis, and "Signs of Auto Accident" becomes "Blue Truck." "If the victim died in the car accident, how many months ago did the accident happen?" As Navel mentioned before, the accident would've happened about a month ago. Answering the deduction correctly merges "Time Since Death" and "Blue Truck," which becomes "Time of Accident." She checks to make sure the victim was really on the bridge in the accident. "The indications of an accident that were visible at the accident scene and on the victim's clothing were... fractures and tire marks." This obtains the card "Accident/Corpse Relations." After that, the analysis on the victim's identity come back: Her name is Veronica Cage, and she was living with her parents, suspiciously far from the accident scene. Records indicate that Veronica's parents never reported her missing, even though a month had passed since her demise. Their testimonies are both added to the recorder. Furthermore, Doe's been detained for tampering with the scene; his second testimony has also been added.

Doe's testimony confirms that he stole one earring, but never found the missing one, resulting in the "Corpse Robbing" card. Next is the victim's father, Thomas Cage. According to him, he and his wife had given up on their daughter. He also has suspiciously severe bruises to his face, which he passes off as fall injuries. Last is the mother, Alice Cage. Her statement is nearly the same as her husband's, and she also has marks on her face, with a similar explanation. You will be asked about the father's condition. "After hearing the details of the victim's father's account, the thing that catches my attention is..." and select the marks on his face. A similar quiz results from Alice's story: "After hearing the details of the victim's mother's account, the thing that catches my attention is..." and do the same with the marks on her face. Both of them have multiple injuries in different stages of healing. "The victim's parents seem to have injuries that are healing at different rates. This implies that they... were hurt repeatedly." This grants the card "Causes of Injuries". Analyze that card to see if they have medical records indicating the bruises. Combining the "Accident/Corpse Relations" and "Victim's ID" cards results in "Victim Events". Analyze that card. Fuse the "Tampered Scene" and "Corpse Robbing" cards. "The information at hand indicates that the victim... is missing an earring." The cards become "Missing Earring".

After that, the identity of the vehicle in the accident is confirmed, and the driver is questioned. Before hearing his testimony, Kimishima first moves to the victim's room. A mirror on her dresser is covered, but a pile of shattered glass is seen on the floor. Investigating these will indeed reveal the source of the shards. Spraying it and using the ALS will reveal the missing earring. "One of the victim's earrings was found with the broken mirror pieces because... it was swept up with the glass." The "Second Earring" card will appear. There's a package of breath mints on the desk; you will be asked if you should open it. Selecting "Open the case" will reveal some pills and give the "Unknown Medication" card.

Back in Kimishima's office, the truck driver's interview is now sent to the recorder. The driver, Charles Elkins, reveals that Veronica was sleeping when he ran over her. Kimishima then suspects the victim had collapsed, earning the "Collapsed Girl" card. After he struck her, he examined her, found she wasn't breathing, and threw her over the bridge. This will give you the "Body Disposal" card. Fuse the "Collapsed Girl" and "Body Disposal" cards. "According to the truck driver, before the accident occurred, Veronica had been... lying on the ground." Doing this brings up another question. "After running over Veronica's body, the driver then... threw the corpse over the bridge." This is consistent with Kimishima's findings: the body was run over while lying down, then thrown downward a great distance where it landed headfirst. "Veronica's skull was shattered when... she was thrown off the bridge." Answering all these gives the card "Driver's Account".

The results of the analysis on the parents' injuries come back: they'd been visiting the hospital often for the last two months up until a month ago, and the marks were obvious signs of abuse. "Causes of Injuries" becomes "Parents' Hospital Records". Analyzing the earring reveals that it has the victim's blood on it, and the fitting is bent out of shape, indicating that it was pulled out of her ear. "There was blood on the needle part of the earring, not the ornament. This shows that... it was ripped out of her ear." "Second Earring" will become "Earring Torn Off". Fusing "Earring Torn Off" and "Missing Earring" raises further questions. "The reason Veronica went to the bridge after having an earring torn out at home was because... she was taken by force." These cards become the Solid Evidence card, "Proof of Abduction".

After this, the analysis of the victim's body will report that all of the injuries were dealt after death. "Victim Events" becomes "Post-Mortem Fractures". Fuse this card with the "Driver's Account" card. "The skull and leg fractures both took place after death. So, when the accident occurred, Veronica was... already dead." These cards will turn into Solid Evidence, "Truth Behind Fractures". The card "Fractured Finger" can be analyzed to reveal that it happened while the victim was alive. "Fractured Finger" becomes "Pre-Mortem Finger".

Analyzing the pills found in the room will reveal them to be prescription drugs. "Unknown Medication" becomes "Prescribed Medication". Re-analyze it and discover where it came from and what it was for. Turns out, Veronica had visited a hospital a month before she died, two months ago, experiencing strange symptoms such as hallucinations, mood swings, and aggression, along with migraines. Moreover, she was having convulsions and vomiting blood. Veronica left the hospital after that, and her condition went undiagnosed. You obtain the cards "Victim's Charts" and "Victim's Hospital Record". The latter card can be fused with the "Parents' Hospital Records" card. "How many months ago did Veronica Cage begin going to the hospital? 2." "How many months ago did Veronica Cage's parents begin going to the hospital? 2." This obtains the card "Bizarre Coincidence". It can then be fused with the "Pre-Mortem Finger" card. "Veronica showed symptoms of migraines, hallucinations, vomiting blood, hemoptysis, mood swings, and most importantly... increased aggression." Not only that, but Veronica had clearly hit something with her fist and broken the little finger. "Veronica's fractured finger and her parents' injuries are connected in that... Veronica was beating her parents." Now the Solid Evidence card "Veronica's Violence" is obtained. The charts can be combined with the bloodstains on her clothing. The cards become "Traces of Vomited Blood". Now this card can be combined with the "Unknown Pathological Change" card to get "Terminal Symptoms".

Kimishima will then return to the room, armed with aluminum powder. Dusting the floor will reveal a trail of fingerprints leading to the door. "The fingerprints on the floor all belonged to the victim. I believe the victim was... crawling on the floor." The "Fingerprints on Floor" card is obtained. Following the trail will reveal that there are more footprints under the doormat. Lifting it up will reveal nothing at first glance, but the spray will reveal a massive bloodstain. "It's believed that the bloodstain left in the victim's room was caused by... blood that she vomited." Kimishima points out the bloodstain's odd shape. "The reason why the massive bloodstain had an odd shape was because... the door was closed." This grants the card "Lethal Blood Loss". Shutting the door will reveal long scratch marks on the backside. Spraying these will also reveal more blood. "The marks left on the inside of the door were caused by... scratching." The card "Hidden Scratches" will be obtained.

Fuse the bloodstain and scratch marks cards. "The closed door with the bloody scratches indicate that when Veronica was in her room, she was... locked in." This gives the Solid Evidence card "Sealed Door". And combining her fatal symptoms with the fact that she was crawling grants the Solid Evidence card "Sudden Attack". Now we know that Veronica was infected with a mysterious disease two months ago. This disease caused her to vomit blood and behave in an aggressive manner, beating her parents. They were unable to deal with her and locked her in her room. Veronica's death was caused by an attack of her disease. She used her last moments to try and escape the room, but lost too much blood to survive. After her death, her parents took the body away, accidentally leaving the ripped earring behind, and dumped her corpse on the bridge, where she was hit by a truck and subsequently thrown into the river.

Ending[]

Kimishima visits the victim's parents, letting them know everything she found out. After they are placed in custody, Kimishima ruminates on when she was diagnosed with a terminal genetic disease. A helicopter arrives to bring her back, but upon finding something under the wallpaper, she investigates and discovers the name "Rosalia".
